Hyderabad, May 6: Former Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Congress MP Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday strongly criticized the BRS Government, headed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, for neglecting the unemployment issue in the state.

By not addressing unemployment issue, it has affected more than 40 lakh people, including nearly 25 lakh qualified youth who registered themselves with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), Reddy said

Addressing a press conference along with AICC Incharge in Telangana Manikrao Thakre, Youth Congress President Shravan Dasoju, Mahila Congress President Anitha Venkatesh and other senior leaders at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam said that the government’s failure to provide jobs or the Unemployment Allowance promised in 2018 was not just negligence, but also an open humiliation of the youth.

He pointed out that KCR had announced on the floor of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on March 9, 2022, that his government would fill 80,039 posts in various departments through direct recruitment and regularize the services of the remaining 11,103 contractual posts.

However, as per the report of the C.R. Biswal-headed Pay Revision Commission (PRC), there are 191,126 posts that need to be filled, and the government has failed to fill any vacancy even after one year of promising to fill 80,039 posts.

The Senior Congress leader also highlighted the issue of question paper leaks during TSPSC exams and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and appropriate action.

He alleged that the BRS government had deliberately neglected State Universities, resulting in severe faculty crunch and affecting the quality of education.

The former TPCC President also said that unemployment was too high among BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, and even if promised posts were filled, about 12.40 lakh applicants would remain jobless with no assistance from the State or Central Government.

Uttam urged the Chief Minister to apologize to all the affected candidates, pay compensation, and take measures to address the issue of unemployment in the state.

Manikrao Thakre said that the state government has not fulfilled the expectations of unemployed youth pushing them into a depression.

He said KCR has been deceiving the people for the last nine years and added that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, in the meeting planned at Saroornagar Stadium on May 8, would speak about the injustices done by the BRS government and BJP Government at the Centre to the youth.

He said Priyanka Gandhi would announce the Hyderabad Declaration making specific promises which would be immediately fulfilled after Congress returns to power in the next Assembly election to be held before December this year.

The Senior Congress leader appealed to the youth and students to participate in Priyanka Gandhi’s meeting in large numbers.
